Whether you are attending Epworth Eastern as a day patient or as an overnight patient, we want your stay with us to be as comfortable as possible.
What to bring
You should bring the following items with you:
- Current medications. Any current prescribed drugs, which are not brought in at the time of admission, can be supplied by the hospital but his will be at additional cost to you
- Health benefits cards and pension numbers
- Medicare card
- Pharmaceutical Benefit Card/Safety Net Entitlement Cards
- Work Cover/TAC/Veterans Affairs full details
- Private health insurance fund details
- X-rays and doctor's letters
- Personal toiletries
- Physical aids eg. hearing aids, walking frame, walking stick, crutches
- Repeat prescriptions
- Sleepwear, dressing gown, slippers
You may also like to bring:
- A small amount of money for items such as flowers, magazines, postage stamps, snacks
- Books or magazines
- Electric razor (to be checked by Epworth maintenance, to ascertain correct voltage and to make sure it is electrically safe)
- Hairdryer (to be checked by Epworth maintenance, to ascertain correct voltage and to make sure it is electrically safe)
- Phone numbers of your family and friends
- Watch or clock
- Writing materials
- Mobile phone
- Lap top
Please note that space is limited for the storage of clothing and personal belongings.
Please do not bring the following items:
- Electric blankets
- Food
- Hot water bottles
- Pets
- Valuables, including jewellery
- Your own television (a personal television will be provided for overnight patients)
The hospital cannot take responsibility for personal belongings and valuables.
