Epworth provides a dynamic and supportive environment where registered and enrolled graduate nurses and midwives can transition to high levels of independence and strive for excellence in their clinical practice.

Our highly successful graduate programs are supported by senior specialist clinicians, dedicated graduate nurse program coordinators at each site, and clinical educators from across the group.

Application process

Epworth uses an online application system and the process depends on which intake period you are applying for.

Ensure you read the required documents section below before you start your application.

We regret we are unable to offer students who are not Australian or New Zealand residents the opportunity to apply as our graduate nurse programs do not meet the immigration requirements for visa sponsorship.

Registered nurse October 2014 intake

You should apply to each Epworth location you are interested in using the online application system:

  1. Complete an online application
    See the required documents section below for what you will need to provide during the online application process.

  2. Mail in documentation
    See the required documents section below for what you need to send via post.

    Please mail these documents to the education coordinator at your chosen Epworth location(s). Coordinator names and addresses can be found on the registered nurse program page.

After applications close you will be contacted by the relevant graduate nurse coordinator.

​You must:

  1. Apply at the PMCV computer match website by 24 July 2014, listing one or more of these locations amongst your preferences:

    Epworth HealthCare Richmond
    Epworth HealthCare Freemasons
    Epworth HealthCare Eastern and/or
    Epworth HealthCare Rehabilitation


  2. Apply directly to each Epworth location / division you are interested in.

An interview time will be arranged with you in August or September each year. Telephone interviews will be conducted for New Zealand and interstate applicants.

Interviews for applications at Epworth Richmond will be held from 9am - 1.30pm on the following days:

  • Friday 1 August
  • Monday 18 August
  • Tuesday 19 August
  • Tuesday 26 August

Computer match selection process takes place based on applicant preferences and preferential list supplied by the hospital.

Successful applicants will be contacted by mid October each year via the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria.

Required documents

Documents are to be uploaded electronically during the application process and include:


  • Letter of application (no more than one page)

  • Concise curriculum vitae (no more than three pages, two preferred. Applicaitons to Epworth Freemasons should be no more than two pages).

    Include a list of 2nd and 3rd year placements (hospital, type of ward/experience and number of days) as well as names and accurate contact details, including phone numbers and email addresses, of at least two nursing referees who have directly supervised your undergraduate clinical experience. At least one referee must be from an adult acute health care setting, preferably from a 3rd year placement


Documents to be posted directly to the location / division you are applying to:


  • A certified transcript of all results (key to results to be included)

  • Complete copies of two recent clinical assessments, at least one of which must be from an adult acute health care setting

  • One recent passport photograph with your name printed clearly on the back​

  • For applications to Epworth Eastern and Epworth Freemasons, please also post in printed copies of your curriculum vitae (maximum two pages) and cover letter (maximum one page).
