Endometriosis Support Group
The Endometriosis Support Group was created in response to a need expressed by patients of the Women’s Health Unit. While Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 Australian women, there is currently no other support group in Victoria.
The support group provides a positive environment for women to exchange ideas, coping strategies and current treatment information, with access to the expertise of health professionals. Being a community service, the group is open to all women, not just those treated at Epworth Freemasons.
The group meets bi-monthly on the last Monday of the month at 7.00pm. For more information contact Wendy Dawson at Epworth Freemasons on 0417 215 192 or email wendy.dawson@epworth.org.au.
More information
Most doctors provide written information about relevant procedures, including a patient pathway brochure produced by the ward. The pathway outlines the expected day to day procedures and progress, as well as discharge advice.
Further general information is available on the ward, and more specific information can be obtained from the Gynaecological Clinical Nurse Specialist.
