Making a planned gift
Planned gifts or endowments may be made either by tax deductible major gift within your lifetime or in your will. We request that endowments be made for a fixed term, say 10 years. The principal will be held in trust and the income derived from it applied in addressing the prevailing funding priorities of the hospital. Since these change from time to time, we prefer that such gifts (and bequests) are not given for a specific purpose.
Making a Bequest
Many former patients express their appreciation for the care and treatment they received at Epworth HealthCare by making a bequest to the hospital through the Foundation. It is very easy to make a bequest in your will or to add a bequest to your existing will by codicil.
Please contact the Epworth Medical Foundation for advice on the appropriate wording for your will or to add a codicil to your existing will, telephone 03 9426 6132. Alternatively you can download:
Special Recognition
Much of Epworth HealthCare’s development over the years has been made possible by major gifts and bequests, usually given by grateful former patients. The names of these benefactors are remembered throughout the Hospital, on Honour Boards and in public areas within the hospital and give perpetual recognition to the donors and ongoing comfort to their families.
A Benefactors Club has been formed to honour donors who have made a major gift in their lifetime or have made provision for the Foundation in their will.
