Epworth Freemasons Maternity Unit occupies a prominent location in East Melbourne, overlooking Fitzroy Gardens. It features a 58 bed postnatal unit with an additional 6 bed 'Hospital in the Hotel' service, and enjoys an impressive reputation for quality care and attention to service delivery.
The unit currently accommodates 3500 births per annum in its 9 bed Birthing Suite. The unit also has a dedicated 10 cot Special Care Nursery.
Graduate Midwifery Program
Applications for the 2012 Graduate Midwifery Program have now closed.
Interviews with prospective applicants will be held throughout August.
Educational support is provided to enable graduates to strive for the highest standards of practice as they become valued and experienced midwives.
About the program
Epworth Freemasons offers a supportive program to assist you with the transition from student to qualified Midwife. The 52-week program will see you rotate through our busy Birth Suites (3500 births annually), Ante/Post Natal Wards and Level 2 Special Care Nursery.
Applications are invited from both the Bachelor of Midwifery and Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery streams.
Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery - Employment Model
Commencing March 2012 through to February 2013, this program features:
- Semi-paid model of employment for 6 days per fortnight, with payment for 5
- Offered in conjunction with ACU and RMIT
- Rotations through Birth Suite, Ante/Post Natal and Special Care Nursery
- Time allotted with private obstetricians, childbirth education and antenatal interviews
Please note: You are required to provide two clinical referees with your application.
