Epworth HealthCare operates under the auspices of the Uniting Church and is a not for profit organisation with any surplus funds being reinvested in the further development of hospital facilities and patient care.
The hospital has agreements with the major health insurance funds. All fees relating to medical practitioner care (excluding hospital fellows), pathology and radiology are charged separately. Patients are advised to check with their relevant health fund before admission to confirm their level of cover or, alternatively they may telephone the Patient Administration Office on 03 9419 7122.
Non-hospital fees will be billed separately and may include: surgeon, anaesthetist, medical services, cardio-pulmonary bypass (perfusion), pathology, pharmacy, radiology/X-Ray, physiotherapy and allied health practitioners (where no arrangement exists between Epworth and your health fund).
Medicare refunds some non-hospital charges and your health fund may also cover a further portion but you will be required to pay the balance. If you have any questions on these charges please check with Medicare and your health fund.

Payment can be made by Credit card (visa, mastercard or bankcard)Cash or EFTPOS. If paying by EFTPOS or credit card, please ensure your card limit is high enough to settle your account on admission. No personal or business cheques accepted. Bank Cheque ONLY.
