Professor Richard Gerraty

Epworth Victor Smorgon Chair of Medicine - Monash University 

Professor Richard Gerraty is a Melbourne based Neurologist, with a clinical and research sub specialty interest in stroke. Prof Gerraty founded the Acute Stroke Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, and has worked at both the Royal Melbourne and Alfred Hospitals before being appointed as the Professor of Medicine at Monash Monash University and the inaugural Victor Smorgon Chair of Medicine at Epworth.

Prof Gerraty has participated in all the major national and international stroke trials, and is Chairman of the Australasian Stroke Unit Network and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists.
