Epworth HealthCare participates in commercially funded research that aims to improve patient care through pharmaceutical products such as novel cancer drugs, or devices such as knee joints or heart valves.
These trials are often known as 'sponsored' trials as they are funded by the company who owns the drug or device. By offering our patients the opportunity to participate in these trials, we are able to give them access to the newest treatments in development, without them having to participate in these trials in other hospitals and research centres.
