Whether attending Epworth Rehabilitation as a day patient or as an overnight patient, we want your stay with us to be as comfortable as possible.
Please bring the following items:
- Pharmaceutical Benefit Card/Safety Net Entitlement Cards
- Physical aids e.g. hearing aids, walking frame, walking stick, crutches
- Current medications (Any pre-existing prescribed drugs, which are not brought in at the time of admission, can be supplied by the hospital but at additional cost)
- Repeat prescriptions
- X-rays and doctor’s letters
- Health benefits cards and pension numbers
- Medicare card
- Work Cover/TAC/Veteran’s Affairs full details
- Private health insurance fund details
You should also bring:
- Comfortable clothing for exercise
- Sensible shoes for exercise
- Sleepwear, dressing gown, slippers
- Swimming Costume for Hydrotherapy
- Phone numbers of your friends/family
- Watch or clock
- A small amount of money for flowers, magazines etc
- Books/magazines
- Writing materials
- Electric razor (to be checked by Epworth maintenance, to ascertain correct voltage and to make sure it is electrically safe)
- Hairdryer (to be checked by Epworth maintenance, to ascertain correct voltage and to make sure it is electrically safe)
- Personal toiletries
Please note that space is limited for the storage of clothing and personal belongings. Epworth HealthCare cannot be responsible for personal items.
What not to bring:
- Electric blankets
- Food
- Hot Water Bottles
- Pets
- Valuables, including jewellery, laptop, mobile phone
- Your own television
- Large amounts of money
Accommodation
Epworth Rehabilitation has single rooms and two bed shared rooms all with en-suites. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will have the room of your choice. Please specify your preferred accommodation and we will try to fulfil your request. If your medical condition indicates, you may be accommodated in a single room.
Patient rooms have a nurse call button, colour television with access to video programs, radio and telephone. Special telephones are available for patients with impaired vision or for patients who are unable to hold a hand piece.
Visitor accommodation
There is a wide range of hotels and similar accommodation in most price brackets close to the hospitals. If you need more information about local accommodation, please discuss with the social worker.
Patient rights and responsibilities
It is important that you are aware of your rights and responsibilities as a patient. A copy of your Rights and Responsibilities will be sent to you prior to admission, or given to you on admission.
