Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Epworth HealthCare offers personal counselling and a referral service to all it’s employees. This includes full-time, part-time, regular bank and Nurse Resource Team employees. The Epworth HealthCare EAP is run by an external resource who provides free professional expert knowledge and skill in counselling for work related and personal issue. This can include: Advice and information on work related issues, work related and personal stress, interpersonal conflicts, health issues, alcohol and drug related problems, relationship and family issues, gambling problems and grief, anxiety and depression.
Salary Packaging Salary packaging enables employees to receive more of their income tax-free. This is because Epworth HealthCare is a charity for taxation purposes and receives certain taxation concessions as a result. Full time staff can salary package up to $9,095 p.a, which can result in an income tax saving of around $2,700 per year (over $100 per pay) for most employees. The amount of tax saving available will vary depending on your level of income and the amount you salary package. The Fringe Benefits Tax (salary packaging) year runs from 1 April to 31 March and salary packaging reporting is based on benefits received during this period.
Team Epworth Card As a valued member of Team Epworth, the Team Epworth card entitles you to a vast range of valuable savings, very special offers and bonuses - yes, just for working for Epworth! The Team Epworth staff discount card is an initiative taken by Epworth HealthCare’s management for the benefit of ALL Epworth personnel. It’s primary purpose is to ‘add value’ to working for our group. The Team Epworth card, which every member of staff will receive, entitles the bearer to enjoy many discounts in a myriad of businesses – from car hire to restaurants, from telcos to fashions shops, from holiday travel to carpet. The current list of participants will be added to as an on-going exercise. Look for the TE sign in the front of windows of participating partners.
Education and Staff Development Epworth HealthCare is dedicated to delivering quality patient care and is supported by educators in all clinical areas. We are committed to staff development by providing extensive in-service training as well as financial assistance for tertiary studies.
