Professional Development

Epworth HealthCare is committed to the professional development of nurses and has established highly sought after graduate programs. Our training commitment also includes in-service programs to maintain skills and advance clinical practice. Epworth also provides an extensive range of postgraduate educational opportunities for nursing staff, in collaboration with major universities.


Epworth was the first private hospital in Australia to appoint a Professor of Nursing, in conjunction with Deakin University, This position facilitates nursing research through The Centre for Clinical Nursing Research located at Epworth Richmond. The Centre is led by Epworth's Chair of Nursing Professor Mari Botti, and is supported by a number of nurse researchers.


Epworth nursing staff are supported by Clinical Resource Facilitators on each Unit and many management opportunities exist for nurses at Epworth from clinical expert to senior nursing roles including Clinical Care Coordinators, Infection Control and Nurse Educators.
