Patient satisfaction is our priority

Epworth’s emergency department is committed to providing the best care for our patients. Since August 2013 the department has consistently achieved patient satisfaction scores above 90 points (out of 100).

To calculate these scores, each month between 200 and 300 emergency department patients are asked to rate their experiences related to staff introductions, how well they were kept up to date on their treatment, pain management and how well they were prepared for discharge home. The information is collected through an electronic tracker and the patient remains anonymous when providing feedback.

Epworth continuously monitors patient satisfaction scores to ensure the highest quality care and identify opportunities for improvement.

Teaching and research

Epworth’s emergency department is involved with teaching and research programs, ensuring our staff remain at the forefront of the latest medical treatments and advancements and that their experience and expertise is shared with others. We are accredited for emergency training from the College of Emergency Medicine.
