Dr Grant Flanagan

Dr Grant Flanagan is an Australian-trained Consultant Physician and Nephrologist.

Physicians are highly trained in a range of non-surgical care for adult patients. Physicians care for difficult, serious or unusual medical problems and continue to see the patient until these problems have resolved or stabilised. Physicians have expertise in the effects of medications, including their side effects and how they interact with other medicines. Much of this work takes place with hospitalised patients, while Dr Flanagan also sees patients for in rooms consultations.

Dr Flanagan's physician area of expertise is Nephrology (renal or kidney medicine), where he has a special interest in hypertension and renal calculus (kidney stones). He is frequently asked by surgeons to see patients for assessment prior to surgery. He advises surgeons of a patient's risk status and recommends appropriate management to minimise the risk of the operation. Dr Flanagan assists with post-operative care, and ongoing medical problems or complications.
