About
Mr Simon Moten is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the Austin Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Epworth Richmond. He has a special interest in minimally invasive mitral and aortic valve surgery, robotic cardiac surgery and sutureless aortic valve replacements.
After completing his Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide, Simon completed his basic surgical training and specialty cardiothoracic training, obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal Australiasian College of Surgeons in 2004. He completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Cardiac Surgery under the guidance of Dr Randolph Chitwood III, a leading mitral valve surgeon in North America at the East Carolina University, USA.
He is an internationally recognised proctor on the insertion of sutureless aortic valves and advocates for minimally invasive techniques for cardiac and thoracic surgery.
