About

Professor Watson studied at Cambridge and Oxford Universities. He trained as a physician and gastroenterologist in Oxford, London and Newcastle upon Tyne. He was awarded a PhD for studies into Hepatitis C Virus infection and liver disease and European Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in 1998. Since migrating to Australia he has practised, researched and taught in VIC, NSW and WA. He has researched Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) related liver disease, published in peer reviewed journals, presented at national and international meetings and organised the Australian Gastroenterology Society's annual meeting twice. He was Dean of Medicine at Deakin University VIC and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at The University of WA. He completed a Graduate Certificate in Medical Education with the University of Dundee Medical School Scotland and is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians of London and Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He was appointed to National Examining Panel of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He was Board Director for Kardinia Health Geelong, QEII Medical Centre Trust WA and Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria and Board Chair of National Centre for Farmer Health Hamilton.
