Topic 1: Syncope - when the lights go out’
Speaker: Presented by Assoc Prof. Michael Wong, Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist
Summary: Examine the burden of syncope in Australia, risk stratification and investigations to consider. 

Topic 2: Contemporary management of Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS)
Speaker: Presented by Dr Dharsh Fernando, General and interventional cardiologist
Summary: Features case studies and provides an overview of acute coronary syndromes (ACS):

  • Pathophysiology of ACS
  • ACS patient presentations – case studies
  • Unstable angina patient
  • NSTEMI patient
  • STEMI patient
  • Cardiogenic shock / out-of-hospital cardiac arrest patient
  • Revascularisation strategy - PCI vs CABG in ACS
