A/Prof. James Lee is a leading endocrine surgeon. A/Prof. Lee is extensively trained and highly qualified as a general surgeon specialising in endocrine surgery with specific interests in all aspects of thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal procedures. A/Prof. James Lee has an impressive educational history from qualifying as a general surgeon and obtaining the specialist qualification from the Austin Hospital to undertaking the prestigious T.S. Reeve International Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital.
In 2014, A/Prof. Lee completed his thesis on biomarkers of thyroid cancer and was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the University of Sydney. He has over 70 peer-reviewed publications and 3 book chapters to date. During his PhD candidature, A/Prof. Lee received several scholarships and research prizes from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Patient philosophy is at the core of A/Prof. Lee’s practice. He believes that patient education and transparent communication is essential to a successful recovery journey.
