About
Dr David Cunnington is a specialist sleep physician, director of Melbourne Sleep Disorders Centre, and cofounder and contributor to SleepHub (sleephub.com.au), an online sleep resource. David trained in sleep medicine both in Australia and in the United States at Harvard Medical School, and is also a Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine and Registered Polysomnographic Technologist.
David's clinical practice covers all areas of sleep medicine, including snoring and sleep apnea, disorders of sleepiness such as narcolepsy and hypersomnia and problems of getting to sleep and staying asleep such as insomnia and circadian rhythm disorders. David is also actively involved in research of new sleep treatments, publishing his research in leading journals and trains other doctors and health professionals in managing sleep problems. David is a regular invited keynote speaker both in Australia and internationally and in addition to being a media commentator on sleep, produces the monthly podcast Sleep Talk discussing a range of sleep problems.
Away from work David is the parent of teenage twins, one of whom has a rare, life-threatening genetic disorder, and is actively involved in advocating for precision medicine treatments for rare genetic disorders.
