Dr David O'Callaghan

Dr David O'Callaghan is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1985 and did most of his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at the Mercy Hospital for Women. He then spent a year post membership at the National Maternity Hospital in Dublin but is now full time in his private practice in Fitzroy.

Over his 28 years as an obstetrician, David has calmly navigated every kind of situation that can arise during pregnancy. His expertise and experience allow for the full range of birthing options from natural, low intervention through to high-risk pregnancies and birth including vaginal breech, twins and VBAC.

It’s through this broad experience that David developed his philosophy on providing expert patient care from the first consultation… to the birthing experience… right through to when you take your new baby home. With these principles in mind, David’s aim is to give you the support you need to feel safe, calm and in control throughout your pregnancy.
