About

Dr Jonathan Tan is a Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. He completed his training at various tertiary hospitals before pursuing his passion in Interventional Endoscopy at Alfred Hospital. Jonathan then embarked on an overseas Interventional Endoscopy fellowship in Vancouver at a prestigious liver transplant centre before returning to Melbourne. Dr Tan maintains a broad range of interests in gastroenterology. In addition to practising as a general gastroenterologist, he has a keen interest in colorectal cancer screening/prevention and management of pancreaticobiliary diseases. He performs endoscopy procedures at various private hospitals in Eastern and Western suburbs for patients' convenience.Procedures offered include gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection (for large polyps), ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound.Dr Tan is actively involved in teaching medical students, nursing staff both at Epworth and Box Hill hospital. Jonathan attends weekly Epworth Multidisciplinary meetings to discuss cases in a team approach to achieve the best outcome for all his patients.
