About

Dr Pav Nanayakkara is a specialist Gynaecologist and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon with specialisation in endometriosis, fibroids and ovarian cysts.

She was a medical graduate of Monash University, and completed an honours year in research as a RANZCOG Research Foundation Scholar. After internship and residency at The Alfred Hospital and Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at The Royal Women's Hospital, Pav completed a 2.5 year fellowship in advanced minimally invasive surgery at The Epworth HealthCare which provided further training in hysteroscopic, laparoscopic and robotic techniques.

Pav is a strong believer in the value of education, both of future and current medical practitioners, and also in empowering her patients to make informed decisions. She has facilitated and lectured at several courses, developed simulation programs and created online educational tools. She has published several research papers in international peer-reviewed medical journals and continues to supervise junior trainees. Pav has been the nominee and recipient of numerous awards for her research, mentorship and wellbeing initiatives. She is a strong advocate for holistic healthcare and highly values the multidisciplinary team she works with to obtain the best possible outcomes for her patients.
