Dr Sarah Donovan is an Anaesthetist with an interest in Pain Medicine. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin before undertaking vocational training. During this time she developed a passion in pain medicine and musculoskeletal disorders and received a Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2003. In 2009 she emigrated from Ireland to Australia where she commenced anaesthetic training. She became a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in September 2018. She completed her Pain Training in February 2019, training at both the Austin and Alfred hospitals. She commenced working at Pain Matrix Geelong in March 2019.
Sarah believes strongly in the benefit of the multidisciplinary team and included in this team is the patient, their goals and beliefs. Together with her patients she will set out a patient centred management plan which will be holistic in nature and include if applicable the latest intervention techniques. She practices evidence-based medicine and has a keen interest in research, education and teaching.
