Dr Al-Ansari is a consultant Gastroenterologist who commenced working in Australia in 2012 following Physician and Gastroenterology training in New Zealand. He undertook a research Fellowship in Endoscopy, completing research projects in Capsule Endoscopy and Colon imaging. He was awarded twice by the NZ society for Gastroenterology for his research . He has public appointments at Geelong Public Hospital and Ballarat Health Service. He consults and provides endoscopy at Epworth Geelong. He has a broad range of interests including: Upper GI Pathology, Dysphagia, Barrett's, GORD, Peptic Ulcer Disease, Eosinophilic, Esophagitis, Anaemia & GI Bleeding Problems, Small intestine and malabsorption problems, Lower GI Pathology, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Bowel Cancer & Colorectal Cancer Screening, Liver Disease, including: Viral hepatitis management (HCV, HBV, and other viruses), Autoimmune Liver Diseases (all types), Metabolic & Storage Liver Diseases (including Hemochromatosis & NASH) Liver Tumours, Investigational & Interventional Endoscopy, Gastroscopy Dilatation, Variceal bleeding, APC for GI bleeding, Colonoscopy, Polypectomy, Haemorrhoid banding, Wireless Capsule Endoscopy.
