Professor Mike Richards is an Infectious Disease Physician working at Epworth and the Royal Melbourne Hospitals. He is the director of the Victorian Infectious Diseases Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Doherty Institute, and also Director of the VICNISS Program for Surveillance of Healthcare-associated infections. His interests in clinical infectious diseases are broad, including infections related to travel, community accquired and health care associated infections, infections complicating surgery, in intensive care, and in patients with impaired immune systems.
