Paula was appointed as Executive Director Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer in June 2018. With over 30 years experience in health, she has a wealth of clinical, education, leadership and management experience. Paula has held senior leadership positions including Operations Director, Director of Nursing and Program Director roles in major metropolitan public health services including Monash, Eastern, Melbourne and Southern Health.

As an Associate Director with KMPG, she has provided consultancy and advisory services to government, private, not for profit and public health organisations. Paula also previously held the position of General Manager for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Earlier in her career, she held the Director Nursing & Midwifery Education and Quality and Workforce Planning leadership roles at Southern Health.

Paula has led large scale safety and quality improvements, implemented new models of care and driven significant clinical redesign projects across a number of health services. As the Executive Director Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Paula’s role is to provide strong nursing, midwifery and clinical leadership with a focus on clinical excellence, governance and education across all Epworth sites. This includes working closely with our large allied health workforce and its leaders to deliver high quality care. Paula will continue to build on Epworth's commitment to education and research in nursing, midwifery and allied health, with a focus on optimising patient outcomes and experience through safe, high quality care.

Paula’s post graduate qualifications include a Master of Nursing, Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing (Critical Care) and Melbourne Business School Senior Managers Program. Paula is also a practitioner member on the Victorian Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a Director of the Nurses Board of Victoria Legacy Limited.
