At the Epworth Centre for Immunotherapies and Snowdome Laboratories, we lead ground-breaking research to change the face of blood cancer treatment forever.

Unlike other cancers, blood cancer rates are going up in Australia. Projections for 2021 showed blood cancers as the second-most diagnosed cancers in Australia. Sadly, blood cancers have a significant mortality rate. They were estimated as the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in 20211-2.

Epworth HealthCare and the Snowdome Foundation share a vision to give hope to people living with blood cancer and their families. We’re working together to give the very best care and accelerate new treatment options for blood cancers.

This Centre falls under the governance of the Epworth Cancer Services Clinical Institute.

Blood cancers in Australia

Our objectives are to:

  • Increase access to and quality of blood cancer treatments delivered at Epworth.
  • Contribute to global progress of blood cancer treatments through translational investigator-initiated research and clinical trials.
  • Provide access to CAR T-cell therapies via clinical trials and ultimately as standard of care treatments.
  • Support academic education and clinical expertise.
