We look forward to welcoming you to Epworth Freemasons.

We have a number of protocols in place to protect you, your care team and other families.

  • Visiting times

There are two visiting periods for maternity patients each day, from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 7pm. This is to allow rest time for patients and enable education and feeding support to take place.

Please do not visit any Epworth hospital if you are feeling unwell, have cold and flu symptoms or vomiting and diarrhoea as these infectious illnesses put our patients, visitors, staff and doctors at risk.

  • Can my partner or support person stay with me in both the Birth Suite and Postnatal Ward?

You may have a maximum of two support people (including partner) with you at the birth.

This does not apply to Caesarean Section births (only one support person in theatre).

Please note that children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the Birth Suite or operating theatre.

  • Can we visit our newborn baby in the Special Care Nursery?

Parents, carers or guardians only can visit a newborn baby in our Special Care Nursery (SCN).

For details regarding your personal circumstances, please speak with your doctor.
