The osteoarthritis rehabilitation program is designed for people who have diagnosed osteoarthritis or other arthritis conditions.
The program covers topics designed to help you manage your condition increase your confidence in living with arthritis support regular physical activity. Rehabilitation may help prolong the need for surgery or it can help prepare you for surgery and recovery
What's involved in the osteoarthritis rehabilitation program?
The osteoarthritis program is an outpatient program that runs twice a week for seven weeks.
Topics covered throughout the program include:
- Information on how to manage arthritis
- Non-pharmacological pain management
- Nutrition and weight management
- Pacing and joint protection
- Relaxation and mindfulness activities
Throughout the program you are supported by a rehabilitation physician who specialises in arthritis, plus a range of allied health services which may include:
- Exercise physiology
- Occupational therapy
