Respiratory specialist talks asthma with ABC

3 May 2017

Epworth respiratory physician Dr Michael Sutherland spoke to ABC afternoon radio presenter Clare Bowditch about allergy and asthma last week. He said allergic rhinitis, inflammation and anaphalaxis are the main problems people have with allergies.

Clare asked about last November’s thunderstorm asthma event in Melbourne and Victoria, which came at the end of an extreme pollen count day. Dr Sutherland reports on the review into the world’s worst thunderstorm asthma event that saw 9000 people present to Emergency Departments across Victoria and caused nine deaths.

Dr Sutherland's interview with host Clare Bowditch is available to listen to courtesy of the ABC website, at 26 minutes 23 seconds.
