Thank You Freemasons Victoria

Kylie O'Loughlin started her role as Epworth Freemasons’ Associate Director Clinical Services – Perioperative, in May 2016.  That year,
her staff shared their hopes and dreams, as well as their application forms, to garner Kylie’s support and enthusiasm for round of scholarships that are created each year through generous donations and sponsorships to EpworthMedical Foundation.

“I discovered what a fantastic opportunity it was to belong to an organisation whose donors and sponsors supported the professional development of staff and encouraged them to bring back that knowledge to share with the organisation, so in 2017 I applied for one myself,” Ms O”Loughlin said.

“I was delighted to be awarded the Freemasons Victoria Scholarship to attend the 20th International Conference on Nursing Leadership and Management in Rome in September, this year.”

The Conference offers an interdisciplinary forum to discuss advances and research in nursing leadership and aims to present and discuss recent innovations, trends, concerns, challenges encountered and solutions in the field of nursing management.

The main topics of the Conference include:

  • Nursing leadership and global influence
  • Nursing leadership management and excellence
  • Healthcare management and policy

“As a senior nursing leader within Epworth I continually aim to guide my team, as well as my colleagues, with effective and innovative methods of leadership and management skills, so that we achieve our departmental and organisational goals.  I envisage that the conference will assist me in influencing the team around me to be better nursing leaders and managers.

“When I found out that my application had been successful I was extremely excited and felt very privileged to be provided with such a wonderful career opportunity.

“I take this opportunity to thank Freemasons Victoria for awarding me this scholarship,” she added.
