Accommodation

 

Epworth Eastern has been designed to provide the highest quality facilities for patients and visitors. The hospital features lots of natural light and provides over 75% private rooms. Private ensuites are provided in each patient room.

 

Patients can access a touch screen entertainment system during their hospital stay, which can include free to air television, Foxtel, radio, movies, audio books, internet and email. To purchase an entertainment package of your choice, speak to patient admissions on arrival.

Internet access


Epworth Eastern provides internet access for patients via wireless in selected areas of the hospital. For further information refer to the patient compendium in your room.

 

 

Meals


Our catering department offers an eight day cyclical menu with a variety of fresh cooked meals daily. We work closely with our nutrition department to provide you with the best balanced meals to enhance your speedy recovery.

 

Menu monitors visit patients every day to help you make menu selections from a menu brochure located at each bedside. The monitors are available from 8am – 4.30pm, seven days a week.

 

Epworth Eastern has developed a food safety program that conforms to HACCP government legislation to ensure that food prepared and cooked for patients is of the highest standard.

 

Meal service times:
 

  • Breakfast: 7.30am - 8.30am
  • Morning tea: 10am - 11am
  • Lunch: 11.45am - 12.30pm
  • Afternoon tea: 3pm - 4pm
  • Dinner: 5.45pm - 6.30pm
  • Supper: 8pm - 8.45pm

Your mail will be delivered to you, on your ward, Monday to Friday. Where possible please have your full name and ward clearly marked on the envelope to assist delivery.

Available from Hudsons Coffee on level 1.

 

 

Telephone

  

Each bed has its own telephone. Please ask your nurse or ward receptionist to assist you in locating your direct telephone number.

 

STD/mobile/international calls can be made by purchasing a phone card, available from reception on level 1. Special telephones are available for patients with impaired vision or hearing, or for patients who are unable to hold a hand piece
