Participants will build on their understanding of systems, assessments and nursing tasks that impact patient recovery, with the overall aim to enhance patient outcomes and optimise care delivery.
Entry requirements
- Registered or enrolled nurses currently working in a clinical unit at Epworth HealthCare
- Completed a graduate year by the commencement of this program.
Duration
- Three study days, delivered over approximately 2 months
- Three programs per year:
- Program 1 - April/May
- Program 2 - August/September
- Program 3 - October/November
Program structure
- Delivered in a blended learning method, with a combination of self-directed online learning and classroom-based learning
- Study days taught utilising case studies and group work
Learning content
- This program aims to extend your knowledge, clinical skills and enhance your clinical decision making
- Content and topics delivered in a systems approach
- Case studies are utilised to assist in translation of complex knowledge into clinical practice
- You will be supported, guided and coached throughout the program by Educators in your specialty.
- No pre-learning is required for this program
Applications
Expressions of Interest open February for Program 1 and 2, and August for Program 3 each year.
Pathway to further study
Those who successfully complete this program may wish to proceed with further studies such as Introduction to Specialty Practice programs or Transition to Specialty Practice programs as a pathway to postgraduate studies.
