This 6-month transition program is designed for registered and enrolled nurses who are wanting to further develop their knowledge, confidence and skills in caring for patients in the speciality of rehabilitation.
Entry requirements
- Applicants must be working in a rehabilitation unit at Epworth and have completed a graduate year by the commencement of the program.
Duration
- One intake commencing in March each year
- 6-month program
- Permanent contract, minimum 0.6 to full time.
Program structure
- Delivered in a blended learning method, with a combination of self-directed online learning and classroom-based learning
- Five study days, taught utilising; case studies, group work and clinical simulation
Learning content
- Discussion forums and reflection exercises via eLearning
- Professional development is assessed through the completion of clinical hurdles and case study presentations
- You will be supported, guided and coached throughout the program by the rehabilitation Educators
- No pre-learning is required for this program

Expressions of Interest open in November each year via an internal application process.
Applications are invited from all rehabilitation sites.
Pathway to further study
Registered Nurses who successfully complete this program are eligible to proceed with postgraduate studies. Epworth staff are able to apply for and may be eligible for scholarships through the Epworth Medical Foundation to support ongoing professional development.
