Advanced Practice Leaders is a 2-day program designed for nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals in advanced practice roles - including Clinical Nurse Consultants, Nurse Educators, Nurse Practitioners, and senior Allied Health clinicians.
Clinical leaders at Epworth HealthCare play a pivotal role at the intersection of clinical expertise and leadership. Through the Advanced Practice Leaders program, you will gain practical tools to lead effectively at the bedside, champion key initiatives, and align your leadership with broader organisational goals - empowering you to thrive in a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.
Entry requirements
- Be working in an Advanced Practice role at Epworth HealthCare
- Be able to attend both days of the program
- Endorsement by your direct line Manager
Duration
- Three programs are run annually
- The program is delivered over 2 days (workshops)
- Program 1 - March
- Program 2 - August
- Program 3 - November
Program structure
The workshops are delivered with a combination of group work, reflection and activities to aid translation of key concepts into practice. Leadership capability and development for Advanced Practice Leaders have been designed to equip individuals with the skills to reflect on and refine their leadership practices across three key domains:
- Leading Self
- Leading Others with Influence
- Leading your Service
Learning content
Topics covered in the face-to-face workshop include:
- Leading Self - Building mindset, resilience and vision for influence with a focus on self - awareness
- Leading Others with Influence - Translating expertise into action and how to guide and influence toward achieving shared goals
- Leading your Service - Driving excellence with an emphasis on the leadership responsibilities related to improving patient care, service delivery, aligning with organisational outcomes

Expressions of Interest open in May and December via an internal application process.
