Overview

General Practitioners contribute significantly to the healthcare of their female patients. Nearly half (44%) of the total burden of disease for women is from cancer. Endometrial cancer is the most common cancer type to occur in the uterus and it is estimated that in 2022 uterine cancer will remain the fifth most commonly diagnosed cancer among females.

Dr Shih-Ern Yao will outline the risk factors of endometrial cancer, symptomatic and asymptomatic presentations, work ups, staging and the role of adjuvant treatment. Discussion will include the recent developments of molecular profiling, node assessments and ultrastaging. Risk reduction strategies for GPs will highlight the role of the GP in the prevention of Endometrial Cancer.
