TSP - Rehabilitation

The TSP is offered post completion of the graduate nursing year and is a great step towards post graduate pathways. 

The program is designed to develop your clinical knowledge, enhance skills and assessment and progress clinical decision making.

TSP - Critical Care

Nurses are given the opportunity to build confidence in identifying and managing deteriorating patients and offers the opportunity for you to produce a learning folio of work that is recognised by Deakin University and will provide you with recognition of prior learning for one unit of the postgraduate certificate course. 

The program enhances your ability to deliver excellence in patient care within your chosen area and allows potential for career progression. 

Delivered using a blended learning method; combination of self-directed online learning and classroom-based learning. 

  • Seven study days are taught over a six-month period utilising case studies, group work and clinical simulation. 
  • Professional development is assessed through completion of clinical hurdles and academic assessments; short oral presentation, written assignment, written examination.
  • Successful program completion recognises 1 credit point towards post graduate pathways at Deakin University. 

Intake 2024

  • Applications for intake 1 running February to July have now closed.
  • Applications will open in April for intake 2, running from July to December.

Eligible applicants must have

  • A current RN qualification with APHRA registration
  • Permanent residency or Australian citizenship
  • Completed a Graduate Year (by commencement of the program)

Expressions of Interest (EOI) will be advertised in April and October each year.

TSP – Mental Health

This program is for new or existing registered or enrolled nurses who have minimal experience caring for patients in mental health settings, providing the opportunity for nurses to develop knowledge, confidence and skills; and reflect on clinical mental health nursing practice.

Those who successfully complete this program may be eligible to proceed with external studies. Epworth supports and assists staff to complete post graduate studies – staff may be eligible for scholarships through the Epworth Medical Foundation.

  • 6 study days
  • 16 modules of Mental Health Professional Online Development (MHPOD)
  • Discussion forums and reflection exercises via eLearning (approx. 2 hours per week)
  • Case presentation
  • Three reflective supervision sessions with mentor.

Intake

  • Applications are open throughout October
  • Course runs March to August

Eligible applicants

  • Working in a rehabilitation and mental health unit at Epworth Clinic.
  • Registered or Enrolled nurses.
  • Completed Expression of Interest form (EOI)

TSP - Rehabilitation

This program is for new or existing registered or enrolled nurses, who have minimal experience caring for patients in rehabilitation settings. It provides the opportunity for nurses to develop knowledge, confidence and skills and reflect on clinical rehabilitation nursing practice.

Intake

  • 1 intake April to August
  • Permanent contract, minimum 0.6 to full time
  • 5 study days throughout a 6-month program

Eligible Applicants

  • Must be working in a rehabilitation unit at Epworth
  • Registered & enrolled nurses
  • Pre-approval from the applicant’s Nurse Unit Manager.

Applications

  • Applications are invited from all rehabilitation sites
  • All study days will be conducted at Epworth Camberwell
  • Expressions of Interest (EOI) will be advertised in November.
