About
Dr Alice Bergin is a Medical Oncologist, and a PhD candidate and researcher at the University of Melbourne and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia.
Alice studied Science (Science Scholar Program) at Monash University in Melbourne, before completing her medical degree at the University of Queensland. Alice worked as a junior doctor in Brisbane, Melbourne, Singapore and Sydney and completed her specialist medical oncology training at St Vincent's Hospital, The Alfred and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne.
Alice has completed a breast cancer clinical research fellowship with Professor Geoffrey Lindeman at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) and a breast cancer clinical trials fellowship with Professor Sherene Loi at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Alice's clinical and laboratory research is focused on understanding the outcome disparity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people diagnosed with breast and lung cancer. Alice's PhD is supervised by Professor Sherene Loi (Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre), Professor Gail Garvey (University of Queensland and TACTICS) and Professor Sue Evans (Victorian Cancer Registry).
Dr Bergin provides compassionate, patient centred care and she is privileged to collaborate with patients and her medical colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for people, their families and care givers.
