Dr Pallavi Desai

Dr Pallavi Desai is a gynaecologist with special interest in prolapse and pelvic floor surgery.

Dr Desai has over 30 years of experience in the field. She is currently a specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist at Joan Kirner Women's and Children's at Sunshine Public Hospital and performs gynaecological procedures at various private hospitals in Melbourne. She routinely investigates and manages the following conditions: Abnormal uterine bleeding, Hormonal imbalances, Adolescent gynaecology, Contraception, Endometriosis, Ovarian cysts, Fibroids, Abnormal pap smear, Vulval disorders, Basic subfertility.

Dr Desai has a special area of interest in pelvic floor disorders, including prolapse and urinary incontinence. Guided by her core values, Pallavi strongly believes that an overall healthy person leads to a healthy family. She respects her patient's individual choices on the diagnosis, and provides individualised care aimed at improving their overall quality of life. She believes in gender diversity and welcomes people from all gender identities.

Pallavi regularly attends workshops and conferences to constantly update her knowledge on recent advances and practices. She is strongly involved in teaching and training aspiring gynaecology and obstetric specialists at the public hospital. She is also involved with various RANZCOG committees.
