Dr Simon Gibbs is a clinical haematologist and amyloidologist. His particular interests are diagnosing and treating multiple myeloma, amyloidosis (all forms - AL, ATTR and hereditary), as well as acute leukaemia and myelodysplasia.
Dr Gibbs is a proud member of Precision Haematology. He reviews patients at Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne), Richmond and Eastern (Box Hill).
Dr Gibbs is the inaugural Myeloma and Amyloidosis Lead at Eastern Health, a member of the Myeloma Service at Alfred Health, and is an adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University.
Dr Gibbs co-founded and chairs the Australian Amyloidosis Network.
Dr Gibbs represents Asia-Pacific countries on advisory boards and steering committees for several global clinical trials.
He is an invited member of the Educational Subcommittee of the International Society of Amyloidosis and the Myeloma Australia's Scientific Advisory Committee (MSAG).
Dr Gibbs is author of over 40 publications in international medical literature, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, and Nature Reviews.
Dr Gibbs is a passionate advocate for patients, including access to clinical trials and compassionate access programs, and optimising supportive care and diet to improve quality of life and long-term health.
