About
Dr He underwent advanced joint training in both clinical and laboratory haematology and was first appointed as Consultant Haematologist in Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2007. His experience includes (a) laboratory diagnosis of a variety of blood and bone marrow disorders in adults; (b) consultative service in nonmalignant disorders in anaemia, neutropenia and/or thrombocytopenia, thrombosis and iron disorders; (c) perioperative management of bleeding, thrombotic complication & transfusion support; (d) treatment for a range of serious blood disorders in acute leukaemia, chronic leukaemia, myelodysplasia, myeloma and lymphoma. In addition, he also specialises in allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplantation. His main research interests are in leukaemic stem cells, CLL, GVHD and autoimmune blood disorders such as immune thrombocytopenia. Since July 2016, Dr He has been appointed as the medical lead in Bone Marrow Transplant at the Olivia Newton-John Centre in Austin Hospital after the successful establishment of Victoria's third adult allogeneic transplant unit. He continues as transplant physician in Royal Melbourne Hospital/Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre within the precinct of Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre. He is a member of American Society of Hematology, ALLG and HSANZ.
