About

Mr. Vachara Niumsawatt is a board-certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He graduated from Monash University Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Post graduate Diploma of Clinical Anatomy, and he was awarded a Masters of Surgery in Cancer Research with Monash University.

Vachara has a strong interest in research and education. He has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals and contributes to textbook chapters. He has also won multiple awards from RACS and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgery, including the Developing a Career in Academic Surgery (DCAS) prize. He is a Plastics SET trainee supervisor with RACS.

Vachara holds public appointments as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Alfred Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has a special interest and significant experience in trauma, microsurgery and reconstruction of the face, as well as skin cancer surgery, hand surgery, breast surgery and cosmetic surgery. Vachara holds professional memberships of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) and the American Society of Plastics Surgeons.
