Title: Essentials on Arthritis Management and Arthroplasty: What’s New, Who and When to Refer
Overview:
Arthritis – including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ‘other type and unknown’ , affected an estimated 3.7 million (15%) people in Australia, according to self-reported data in the 2022 Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) National Health Survey (NHS) (ABS 2023).
This session will discuss evidence-based management of hip, knee and shoulder arthritis in general practice, including conservative strategies and when to refer for surgical intervention. The session will outline new modern joint replacement options and discuss tailored arthroplasty.
