Overview
Knee injuries are common in our population, mostly due to the type of sports we play. Knee injuries at a young age can have serious consequences in the short and long term for the patient and their family. Injury prevention techniques are available and should be administered by local sporting clubs starting with junior athletes.
This education session is designed for general practitioners, allied health professionals, and community members, with a shared goal of improving prevention, early recognition, and evidence-based management of knee injuries.
Contemporary approaches to investigation, treatment, and rehabilitation will be discussed, highlighting current best practice and clear referral pathways. By addressing knee injury care across the entire continuum, this session aims to support safe return to sport, reduce re injury risk, and promote long term joint health for athletes of all levels.
