Overview
Build practical skills in the management of Parkinson’s disease: a hands-on small group workshop for GPs.
This interactive educational evening will provide GPs with a practical update on the diagnosis and management of Parkinson’s disease, with a particular focus on the important role of primary care throughout the patient journey. GPs will gain insight into both motor and non-motor symptoms, current treatment options, and emerging therapeutic advances. Through presentations and multidisciplinary rotations with occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology teams, attendees will explore evidence-based strategies to support function, independence and quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s disease.
Learning outcomes
- Summarise the role of general practice in the early identification, diagnosis, referral and ongoing management of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
- Identify and address common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and understand their impact on patient function, quality of life and clinical outcomes.
