Title: The breathless patient - from diagnosis to treatment options.

Breathlessness is one of the most common presentations for patients. The topics for the evening will help inform General Practitioners by discussing relevant cardiac investigations for diagnosis and further explore the latest treatment options for patients with advanced valvular heart disease.

Learning Outcomes

  • Clinically assess and appropriately work up the breathless patient with suitable cardiac imaging modalities 
  • Outline the treatment options for patients with severe aortic stenosis and understand the value of the heart team to ensure the best treatment option for each individual patient
  • Understand the importance of identifying, managing and treating mitral regurgitation in patients with heart failure and early referral to a heart team.
