From cultural experiences to beautiful beaches – there is something to do for everyone. With Christmas approaching, there are also a few events which are the perfect chance to embrace your Christmas spirit. Not sure what to do this weekend? See the following list for ideas!

1. Narana

Looking for a cultural experience? Take a trip to Narana, the Aboriginal cultural centre. Enjoy indigenous inspired cakes in the café, visit the art gallery to see authentic artwork and find handmade boomerangs in the gift shop.

When: Saturday 9am-4pm (the café closes at 3pm)

2. Bellarine Rail Trail

The scenic trail runs from Bellarine to Queenscliff. It is the perfect location for a bike ride or a leisurely trek with the whole family.

3. The Carousel

Kids will enjoy this fun ride with history – the Carousel is a reconstructed hand-carved ride which was made in 1892. The Carousel also has a mobility lift which allows wheelchairs on the ride.

4. Waterfront Geelong Train Tours

Enjoy a 20-minute train tour which runs from the Carousel to the Eastern beach pools.

5. Eastern Beach

Stop off at Eastern Beach for a swim or spend the day there with the family. There is a diving tower, swimming enclosure, kiosk, barbeques and an adventure playground next door.

6. Thirteenth Beach

Want to surf? The perfect surf beach with low to moderate swell is only a short drive from Geelong.

Location: Barwon Heads, City of Greater Geelong

7. Movies at Steampacket Gardens

Get into the Christmas spirit and see a free screening of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’.

When: 13th December 2019 at 6pm

Location: Steampacket Gardens (Eastern Beach Road, Geelong)

If you’re still in the mood for a movie at other times, visit the Pivotonian Cinema.

8. Denis Walter Carols by The Bay

Sing along to Christmas tunes with the family. At the end of the concert, there will be a display of fireworks.

When: 7th December 7-9pm

9. Adventure Park

If you’re in the mood for a thrill, head down to Adventure Park for a range of water park rides. During December, see the Christmas Festival of Lights at Adventure Park. For more information click here.

10. Festival of Sails

See Victoria’s oldest sporting event this January with 15 race series. There are a range of actives for the family – including free live music and food trucks.
