Alison is an obstetrician / gynaecologist, with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

After graduating from Melbourne University medical school, Alison completed obstetric and gynaecology training at The Royal Women's Hospital (Melbourne). She then spent three years at Guy's and St Thomas' (London), gaining further surgical experience while completing a Master of Surgical Education at Imperial College. Alison then completed an advanced laparoscopic gynaecology Fellowship with A/Prof Alan Lam in Sydney. During this two-year apprenticeship, Alison was involved in the care of many patients with fibroids and severe endometriosis. She adopted A/Prof Lam's surgical techniques for laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, amongst other operations.

Alison's research has been published in various peer-reviewed medical journals (please see LinkedIn for details). Her current research interests include: antimicrobial prophylaxis, specimen extraction techniques, and a biomarker for endometriosis. She tries to fit exercise around spending time with her partner and two young children.

Alison is an affiliated gynaecologist with the Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre at Epworth.
