I am an academic gastroenterologist with extensive experience caring for patients with a broad of array of GI health issues in multiple settings in Australia and overseas. I perform diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopy, including Endoscopic mucosal resection (EMS) and stenting, and am happy to consult on any GI health issue in adults, including second opinions and complex diagnostic problems.
My career has been focused on improving care for under-served people in Australia and Africa. I have pursued this through a multi-faceted approach, involving direct clinical care, education and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, academic program innovation, public health policy development and clinical research focused on viral hepatitis, dyspepsia and non-communicable diseases. I have significant clinical and academic leadership experience in Australia and Rwanda, including in curriculum redesign, governance, and improving equity and diversity.
