Ahmed Al-Kaisey is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist who is passionate about providing holistic and evidence-based treatments for cardiac disorders to his patients.
In addition to general cardiology, Ahmed sub-specialises in the management of heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation (AF), premature atrial and ventricular ectopics, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and ventricular arrhythmias. He also implants and manages cardiac devices including pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders.
He is a staff specialist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Western Health and is accredited at Epworth Richmond Hospital.
Ahmed completed his cardiology training at Austin Health before undertaking a 4 year cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He recently completed a 12 months clinical fellowship at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London.
Ahmed completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne focused on understanding the mechanisms of atrial fibrillation. He was supported by the prestigious National Heart Foundation/National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarships. He has authored over 40 peer reviewed papers in high impact journals and won several awards at local and international conferences.
