Dr Amy Feng is a Melbourne trained gynaecologist and fertility specialist who is passionate about providing holistic, individualised, and evidence based care for women.

Amy’s clinical interests include fertility care, egg freezing, heavy menstrual bleeding, endometriosis, and advanced gynaecological surgery, including complex minimally invasive procedures.

Amy completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University in 2008. She discovered her passion for women’s health during her medical residency, when she was awarded the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Medal in her Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology examinations. She then completed six years of specialist obstetrics and gynaecology training at The Royal Women’s Hospital and Monash Health.

Amy then went on to complete a prestigious two year advanced laparoscopic fellowship with the Advanced Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES), as well as a Master of Surgery in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery.

Dr Feng’s AGES training has been completed by only a small number of gynaecologists in Victoria and reflects advanced expertise in minimally invasive and complex gynaecological surgery. Through this training, Amy has completed hundreds of laparoscopic surgeries and developed an expert skillset in both straightforward and complex operations - ncluding difficult hysterectomies - with a focus on optimising recovery and surgical outcomes. Many gynaecologists manage endometriosis using medical therapy and surgical techniques. In severe endometriosis, including disease involving other pelvic organs such as the bowel, advanced laparoscopic expertise with accredited training is particularly important to enable safe and effective surgical management.

Amy recognised a strong need for patients with endometriosis and fibroids to have tailored fertility treatment - including fertility preservation and reproductive planning alongside gynaecological care. She therefore completed a Master of Reproductive Medicine to provide comprehensive fertility care for these patients, including general fertility assessment, egg freezing, and fertility preservation in the context of gynaecological surgery.

Teaching and mentorship are important to Amy. She is an Affiliate Senior Lecturer at Deakin University, a RANZCOG training supervisor for obstetrics and gynaecology trainees, and a member of the AGES Education Committee, helping to shape the future of advanced laparoscopic gynaecological training. She is regularly invited to present at conferences and maintains active involvement in ongoing research, collaboration, and professional development. Amy is also an affiliated gynaecologist with the Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre at Epworth.
